Agnes Waruguru | I dreamed a place for you, will you visit?

“Recently I have used my practice as a tool for mediation, comfort, understanding and release. 
The works serve as a memory place. A place I imagined you  would be, a place you might be enticed to visit now that I cannot reach you. I found myself in between, searching… I’m not sure where it starts or if it finishes. 
While making these works I washed the paper with water and at times adding salt. The process begins to feel like an offering a repetition that transports me to a spiritual place. 
I believe that the water never forgets. She holds memories, remembering us. 
Healing us or swallowing us. I am born of it and know by it.  
The work serves as an invitation, where you or a loved one present or past may visit, stand still and enjoy. “
