Nare Eloyan

Naré Eloyan has just completed the two-year international residency program at the ‘Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten’. The exhibition ‘Souvenirs and samples’, (French translation souvenirs – memories) brings together her work from the past two years.

Eloyan created the work as a visual diary. “I approached the works as a collage, often cutting up pieces of earlier paintings which later became new works. The paintings consist of multilayered images, placed on top of one another. This recycling of works is connected to the act of remembering and trying to reclaim what has been lost. With these paintings, I have tried to capture the fluidity and surprise of image connections.”
